In 2024, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), also known as Pelindo, extended a helping hand to businesses by offering discounts of up to 50% on storage and container handling fees. These discounts were applicable during the Eid holiday rush period, aiming to ease the burden on businesses during that time.
Ardhy Wahyu Basuki, Group Head of Pelindo's Corporate Secretariat, highlighted that the discounts were valid from April 5 to April 16, 2024, at Pelindo-operated terminals. The discount covered various services, including inter-island cargo handling and import services.
The discount also applied to container stacking in the extended container yard (CY) and CY Line 2 areas within the terminal. It also encompassed integrated physical examination areas (TPFT) that were subject to transport restrictions during the Eid holiday rush.
Ardhy emphasized that despite the holiday season, terminal operations continued uninterrupted. Pelindo assured uninterrupted cargo handling, storage, and other support services, which were available 24/7 throughout the seven-day holiday period.
These discounts were part of Pelindo's commitment to supporting government policies. Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi had previously expressed the government's dedication to ensuring smooth logistics supply during the Eid holiday. Pelindo's initiative aligned with this commitment, aiming to facilitate smooth cargo flow and alleviate logistical challenges during that festive season.
